The sculptures of yore are silent evidences of the antiquity of the Indian classical dance. The traditional sacred text shows the close association of religion with dance. The divine concept of the cosmos and the philosophy of Indian thought pervade and form a backdrop to the dance techniques. All the classical dance forms use basically the same 'mudras' or signs of hand as a common language of expression which eventually became a part of 'Natya Shastra'. With this note, we would like to give a brief insight on the program 'Sanskruti' for your kind perusal.
'Sanskruti' an interschool classical dance competition was held on 29 & 30 Jan 2019 at the Bal Bhavan Auditorium, Bangalore. The program witnessed the participation from various schools of Bangalore with 52 performances (solo and group inclusive).
The competition was judged on various parameters based on the 'Natyashastra'. The dance competition was divided into 2 categories viz., Group and Solo performance. The solo category was further divided into 3 sub-groups viz., Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior.
In the evaluation board, we had Ms. Indu Ramdas and Ms. Shweta Karthik both having about 15 years of experience in the field of Bharatanatyam and Kathak respectively. They also specialize in 'Natyashastra' which is the core of all classical dance forms.
Appended below are few pictures of the event. The top 3 performances in the solo category were awarded with trophies and certificates while the top 3 winning teams in the Group presentation were awarded with a Trophy Cup and certificates for the team members.
In our endeavor to create new platforms for the budding artists in various facades of our Indian Art and Culture, we have yet again introduced an event called 'Theatre Kids Festival' skit competition and 'Sanskruti' classical dance competition. Appended hereto is a brief synopsis on the programs mentioned above. Both the programs were presented by Heritage Foundation of Art and Culture and managed by Options Conceptual Services Pvt Ltd. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Tapan Kumar Ghosh, Vice-President, Sunshine Autism School, Kolkata along with Ms. Chandrika B, President, Heritage Foundation of Art and Culture & Mr. Kingshuk Ghosh, Director, Options Conceptual Services Pvt Ltd a the Bal Bhavan Auditorium, Bangalore on 29 & 30 Jan 2019.
Theatre is the most remarkable art of life. It is a collaborate art combining different people into one solid group in which, they work together harmoniously in order to portray a certain idea, concept or a piece of art. Theatre deals with various forms of emotions and is most commonly expected to leave a trace or stimulate sentiments on the audience. The mind plays a big role in theatre, for the art lies within our imagination. The intangible feelings created by our mind, are the reason why theater is the most noteworthy art of life.
'Theatre Kids Festival' is a maiden attempt in view of unleashing the best talents from schools in the performing art fraternity. This interschool skit competition has provided ample platform for the budding artists to identify their skills and outperform on stage.
'Theatre Kids Festival' witnessed the participation of 15 teams from 11 schools of Bangalore. The program was held on January 29, 2019 at the Bal Bhavan Auditorium.
The contestants were evaluated on various parameters by a panel of theatre practitioners viz., Dr. Prashant J, Dr. Hemavathi B S & Mr. Harshil Koushik.
